WEEK 2
10/7/01- Today the puppies are 13 days old. The only two that have opened their eyes are the little yellow girl and Midget. The two smallest ones (go figure?). Some other ones look like they may open any day now. There has been some honest attempts at walking this week. They go for a few steps and then fall down.
They are starting to think about their world a little more these days. When we pick them up, sometimes they suck on our fingers like a vacuum and sometimes they just want to snuggle. We try to give all of them daily lap time with either grandma or grandpa. Riley still doesn't know what to think of it all. He will sniff them and then leave the room.
Phoebe is doing great, but still gets tired a lot. She eats like a pig and wakes us up at least twice a night to go out. She is taking more breaks from being in the whelping room and even started to play with Riley today after her bath. I think she is starting to feel normal again. By next week, we should have some great pictures looking more like full fledged puppies.
