10/28/01- Wow! What a change this week has been. Every day they seemed to learn something different. I have been out of town since Friday night and by Sunday night they were doing things that they weren't doing on Friday. They are definitely little dogs now with emerging personalities. I can definitely say they all are very friendly and loving. Some are more active and more outgoing; some are more reserved. But all of them have endearing qualities of their own. All the boys are extremely sweet. I can't say which one I favor more because they are all so friendly. The boys are definitely kissers and are playful, friendly and curious. Mr. Orange is looking to be a little more active and Mr. Black and Blue very willing to please and love attention. Mr. Red loves to be held and Mr. Green is always wagging his tail. They all seem to have a nice self confidence about them and will explore new things with excitement and curiosity. They love to run just for the sake of running while pouncing on the various toys or objects on the floor. The girls are also starting to show personality characteristics. Rainbow girl is a spitfire. Always on the go and very friendly. I think she just likes to hear herself bark as she uses her voice rather well. Ms. Purple is an extreme tail-wagger along with Ms. White. Both like to play and will pounce, run, and spin as they try to take us on with no fear. Ms. Silver is also very sweet and likes to play but she also likes to be held and will cry until she gets some attention. Ms. Pink (Midget) and Yellow are more laid back but are starting to get into the action when they see others playing around them. If they get knocked around by one of the bigger ones, they get right back up and start playing again. They have been exploring the big, neat, wonderful place called the "living room." They find lots of things to sniff and bark at, as they test their legs by running and pouncing on us and occasionally the cat. They are starting to play with Phoebe and she is starting enjoy playing with them. Riley still hasn't joined in the fun, but I think he is slowly coming around. They are eating all solid food now softened with water. Phoebe lets them nurse less and less as their teeth get sharper and sharper. By next week, I suspect they should be fully weaned. Rob has been a great Mr. Mom and hasn't complained much about the increasing work load and poop patrol. He has them on a feeding schedule three times a day and gives them all individual play time. This week, we will let them play outside and enjoy the cooler weather as long as it lasts. I can't believe they will be gone soon. I will miss them all very much!
