THIS IS MY PERSONAL PROTOCOL- I am not a Veterinarian, nor claim this protocol is better than any other. I have developed my protocol based on personal research and guidance form my traditional vet and my homeopathic vet. I suggest you discuss vaccination protocols with your vet after you read the current research on the subject, and by all means ASK QUESTIONS! YOU ARE YOU ANIMALS ONLY ADVOCATE!
I have put a lot of thought into this protocol when it came time to vaccinate my litter. I read as much research as I could and came up with a protocol that was not as strict as some, but not as lenient as others. I feel strongly that the research does have significant merit, as 27 vet schools across the country have now modified their vaccination protocol. My protocol combines traditional and homeopathic elements. If your current veterinarian has a problem following this schedule for the puppy, I suggest you print out this page for him and have him look at the web pages LINKS provided below. If he looks at the research and still has a problem, I suggest you find another vet. The following is a general protocol with variations in timing, but the highlighted number is what I would like my puppy buyers to follow. A NOTE ON PREVENTION. Try not to take the puppy around strange dogs or where other dogs defecate or urinate frequently until after 14 weeks, preferably 16 weeks. A note on NUTRITION. For a few days after vaccination it is a good idea to add extra Vitamin C (ester), Milk Thistle or Dandelion, B-complex, and Selenium to their food. My Protocol:
